- Tue Jan 14, room 238. Special Session. Dark and Quiet Skies: Recent Developments, Environmental Impacts, and Pathways Forward, 2-3:30pm. This session opens with short talks by the following people: Meredith Rawls, Tiffany Nichols, James Lowenthal, Jonathan McDowell, Teznie Pugh, and Lindsay DeMarchi. It concludes with a panel moderated by Roohi Dalal (AAS) featuring panelists Gabriel Swiney (Office of Space Commerce), Merissa Velez (Federal Communications Commission), Steph Earle (Federal Aviation Administration), and Jennifer Manner (National Telecommunications and Information Administration).
